That’s it for Eternal MMA 60. A great night of Australian MMA! Fight of the night was the main event with a 3 round war going to Flyweight Champion Steve Erceg. Eternal MMA 60 – Main Event Live Update

11:03pm – 29-28 Steve Erceg on all 3 judges scorecards. A classy win for the Flyweight champ but nothing for Haddon to be ashamed about. Fight of the night for sure!

11:01pm – What an incredible Main Event, it delivered just as promised. Hard one for the judges to score. Erceg managed to get Haddon in precarious positions in the first and third rounds. Haddon looked to get the second round.

10:55pm – An explosive second round, both fighters really giving it everything but the tide looks like it might be turning back towards Haddon who even managed to get top position on the mat.

10:49pm – A fantastic display of mixed martial arts in the first round. Haddon looked fast and powerful on the feet but Erceg’s grappling was the story of the round.

10:40pm – Stephen ‘Astroboy’ Erceg is walking out now. Get ready folks!

10:37pm – Undefeated prospect Cody Haddon is making his walk out to the cage.

10:35pm – Main Event time! This is the big one, Eternal Flyweight Champion Stephen Erceg is about to take on Cody Haddon at Bantamweight.

10:32pm – In his post fight interview Costa called out Eternal MMA Featherweight Contender Jack Jenkins. Jenkins was originally meant to be taking on Van Heerden but was replaced by Costa on two weeks notice.

10:27pm – BOOM! Big TKO win to Rod Costa in the first round. A surprising result from the Jujitsu black belt who was expected to be more of a danger on the ground. Costa knocked down Van Heerden three times during the round. The first came from a beautiful straight right, the second was from a short hook and the third came from a barrage of punches. He capitalised on the final knockdown, throwing his finishing shots to Van Heerden on the ground.

10:17pm – Oh yeah the Co-Main Event is about the start. Excited about this one. Rod Costa is up against Justin Van Heerden. This one is also at Featherweight.

10:08pm – Szalay wins via triangle choke submission in the first round. An interesting result from the karate background, striker to pull off the sub. Another great fight.

10:03pm – Sebastian Szalay VS Dave Kriel is underway! The second pro Featherweight bout of the night.

9:53pm – It was all Jankowski in round 2 as he broke down Hayes position by position. The ref stopped the fight with Jankowski raining down strikes from top mount.

9:47pm – Round 1 down and it was a hard one to score. Jankowski controlled most of the round but it was Jack Hayes who had the biggest moment when he knocked down Jankowski with a straight right.

9:44pm – Flyweight match Frank Jankowski VS Jack Hayes is starting soon. Jack Hayes is currently 1-0 in his pro career. Jankowski is making his pro debut. You might recognise the name Jankowski and that’s because his twin brother unsuccessfully taking on Daniel Hussein earlier on the card. The Jankowski brothers are from Perth so the crowd is showing them lots of love.

9:34pm – What a fight! Rafael ‘The Wolf’ Vilches wins 30-27 on all judges scorecards. A fantastic showcase of striking by the Featherweights. Vilches put a cherry on top with a nice takedown and back ride in the last 30 seconds of the fight. Familari took a lot of damage but weathered the storm to make it an exciting match from bell to bell.

9:25pm – A closer second round although Vilches likely took this one too. He threw some damaging knees from the clinch in the first half of the round before Mark ‘The Shark’ came back in the back half of the round.

9:19pm – A great first round! Vilches used his reach really effectively, picking off Familari from the outside. Familari managed to get some good shots off but was nearly finished by Vilches at the end of the round.

9:09pm – It’s the ‘Wolf vs the Shark’ in the first match of the Eternal MMA 60 Main Card. Get ready because Mark ‘The Shark’ Familari VS Rafael ‘The Wolf’ Vilches is about to start. The Featherweight match up is the first professional MMA fight of the night.

8:39pm – Stefan Pietropaolo wins via unanimous decision. Two judges gave it 30-27 but one judge gave it 30-28. It’s likely they gave the last round a 10-10. Bennett was a little flat footed but got close to pulling off a couple of arm bars in the closing minutes. Other than that it was mainly Pietropaolov’s fight.

8:21pm – The featured bout of the prelims will be underway in a moment Lets go Stefan Pietropaolo and Adam Bennett! Remember that the Main Card will be streamed on UFC Fight Pass. You need a subscription so if that’s not an option then check back here for live updates.

8:16pm – Unsurprisingly Hussein wins via unanimous decision. all judges scored it 30-27. He calls out fellow Eternal MMA amateur fighter Ian Cook in his post fight interview. It’s cool to see a call out at this level, hopefully they can make the match up!

8:11pm – A dominant performance by Daniel Hussein who was on debut. Hussein was exhibiting some nice grappling including a myriad of submission attempts. Jankowski did well defensively to not be submitted but he spent most of the fight on his back.

7:58pm – Alright not long until the main card now! A Flyweight fight between Daniel Hussein and Ryan Jankowski is about to begin.

7:50pm – Christian Broehmer wins via unanimous decision. It was great battle by the two debutants who showed off solid boxing, kicking and grappling. This one is definitely worth a watch as the combatants displayed skills beyond their experience.

7:33pm – Next up is a Middleweight fight between debutants Christian Broehmer VS Mawake Gudgeon.

7:28pm – A unanimous decision win to Leon Phelan after an entertaining fight from the big boys. Colback had some big moments including a hard uppercut he landed in the second round but it was Phelans fight.

7:15pm – A Light Heavyweight bout between Elijah Colback VS Leon Phelan is starting now.

7:07pm – Josh Thomas wins via TKO with a head kick in the second round. Thomas who out firing from the start. Suksala showed heart and a strong chin but ultimately it was a pretty one sided fight. The ref called it off while Suksala was still on his feet but he did take a lot of damage before the final head kick struck his forehead.

7:03pm – Another Bantamweight fight is up. Kritsada Suksala makes his debut against Josh Thomas.

6:53pm – Williams wins via head and arm choke in the third round. A good back and forth contest. Deng seemed to have the slight edge on the feet but it was all Williams once he got it to the mat.

6:33pm – WOW! A big knockout in the first round by Luka Calic who was on debut. Steinnokel came out firing but Calic was able to evade all the big shots before landing his own uppercut, knee combination for the win.

Main Event News

Steve ‘AstroBoy’ Erceg takes on Cody Haddon in the 3-round Bantamweight Main Event.

Erceg is the current Eternal Flyweight (56.7kg) Champion and is on a 5 fight winning streak. His professional record is 6-1 with his only loss coming from his second match, when Sean Gauci beat him via unanimous decision back in 2017. He won the Flyweight belt back in March 2020 when he submitted Shannon Ross in the first round.

He was originally scheduled to defend his Flyweight Championship in a rematch against Paul Loga but however Logo was forced to pull out due to injury. Having not fought since the outbreak of the pandemic and having started his training camp, Erceg was itching to get back in there. In stepped his opponent Cody Haddon, a young hungry prospect, in a 3-round Bantamweight (61.3kg).

Haddon is undefeated from his first two professional fights as well as his 5 amateur fights. Haddon has come up through Eternal, originally fighting in their amateur match ups before turning pro. He has finished every one of his fights primarily by TKO or Rear Naked Choke submissions.

AstroBoy Erceg is also a finisher, with only one of his professional 6 wins having come via decision. Like Haddon he has a number of submission finishes on his record including 2 Rear Naked Chokes so it should be an interesting match up if it hits the mat.
